Current Job description
I have worked in several companies in India and abroad at different
capacities as senior scientists, general manager, vice president and
executive director. Currently after retirement I work as a freelance
CONSULTANT
Ensuring Growth
Grow with the colleagues and organisation
Leadership qualities
Put faith in colleagues, respect them and get respect from them. I used
to consider the organization as a living body where I am placed as head. I
keep careful watch on the organs as one stops working it affects the whole
body. Unless the organs hold me up I may fall down.
My advice
Accept their failure as your failure and take immediate corrective
action.
Important career decisions
New technology/product development to support animal production.
Managing personal and professional life
walk with them and participate in management.
Handling Grievances
Understand his failure and help him.
Family background
A Christian missionary family with priests and bishops from the time of
St Thomas.
My views on India Technical development
We lack in need based research & development in the country. The target
of development is his image development and if it damages the country. We
fail to develop models but encourage copying and adoptions. Country should
give more protection for our good geniuses and to keep them in the country.
More about me
I worked to increase milk production in India. The dairying followed in
the developed world is land based. They feed and graze cows in lush green
forages. India has no land to divert for fodder cultivation. It has to
survive on crop residue and agro-indistrial by products. I coul develop
technologies to increase crop residue utilization, nutrient loss in side the
animal and increase the conversion efficiency in cows. But Dr. Kurien was
the strength behind me. When I lost it I left the country. Still I feel
instead of adopting western dairy practices 'zero land.grazing' developed by
us should be further extended beyond politics.
Influenced by
Dr. V. Kurien. For his self denial for higher jobs and to remain in
Anand to develop farmers cooperative, his management ( Kurien's mamagement)
by hiring and firing the best.
