Bangalore: According to a survey some interesting findings come from the combined efforts of LivingSocial and YouGov statistics that United Arab Emirates (UAE) is eating outside 11 times a week. By assuming an average week consists of 21 meals, it is proved that UAE residents are eating out over 50 percent of the time. The survey says that local Arabic cuisine, Italian and Chinese cuisine are the top three choices of the locals. Ethiopian, Brazilian, Argentinean and German are the least liked. LivingSocial commissioned the report to discover and share information about local social trends. The survey was based on the dining habits provided by 1,131 residents. The results are quite interesting and do provide certain idea about tastes of local residents.
61 percent of the surveyed were between the age group of 18 and 34. A breakdown of respondents showed 57 percent from Lebanon, 35 percent from UAE, 23 percent from Jordan, 17 percent from Egypt and 3 percent included others.
According to the results, 64 percent of UAE residents dine out with friends compared to their family. Only 23 percent of respondents prefer their business colleagues to dine with. The study also revealed women prefer Arabic cuisine followed by Italian. Men prefer BBQ and pizza. According to preference for take-out options, 54 percent of respondents choose pizza as number one, secondly Spicy carry-out with most choosing Indian food, thirdly Arabic food was chosen. The survey suggests that residents in the UAE are also a health-conscious crowd with 28 percent of respondents considering themselves as health nuts and more than two-thirds of the surveyed who also say they don't have a sweet tooth.
Surveys like this help companies in their efforts to target deals. It would make little sense for a daily dealer to offer food vouchers on those foods that are not preferred.
