Get Ready for 2013's Digital Marketing Trends

Bangalore: As the year 2012 is coming to an end, 2013 has got some exciting digital marketing trends for businesses. Digital marketing always keeps changing and so there's no fixed pattern according to which marketers can advertise their products online. New competitors are joining the market with upgraded innovations and techniques of their strategy, and to compete with them, the existing players must keep improving their tools. Kaysha Kalkofen and JoAnna Dettmann, cofounders of tSunela, a digital marketing firm stated on about the different trends which are coming up in 2013.

Some of these trends are-

1. Improving Yahoo- Yahoo's new CEO Marissa Mayer is trying to improve the company's performance by shaping the strategy along the lines of Google, her former company. Discussions are also going on about how to upgrade Yahoo in the SEO market, along with enhancing Yahoo mail services, and improving Flickr.

2. The QR codes will be adopted by the organizations and the customers from this year. QR which means Quick Response will be important for mobile marketing and engagement marketing. You will also find URLs that will attempt to draw in customers who haven't fully adopted the QR technology.  You can also expect content to change; in recipes, promoting games and many more. Customers can even send QR codes to avail discounts and send messages to friends.

3. Google has decided to change its search algorithm again. This time, they have named it after the animals 'Panda' and 'Penguin'. Panda was actually released in February 2011, which blocks duplicate sites or sites with plagiarized content. On the other hand Penguin was released in April this year which deals with back linking strategies.

4. Google seems to be undergoing a lot of changes in the coming year. Google places where you can search for locations has decided to integrate with Google+, which makes claiming your local business page listing more significant for your search engine results ranking. Since most of the people use Google in mobile devices, it is expected that mobile search is also going to play an important role.

Other than these, Debra Murphy, president of Masterful Marketing wrote on, about the other trends which might become useful for the marketers. They are: updating fresh content on online, email-marketing and making use of Pinterest business accounts.
