Japanese sports performance brand ASICS has now opened its 111th store at DLF Promenade, New Delhi. The new outlet will serve the SportStyle category of both apparel and footwear. Interesting fact: ASICS is back with its SKYHAND™ OG after 30 years of disappearance. The brand ambassador and one of the most trending Bollywood actors, Shraddha Kapoor, has been associated with the newly launched shoes.
ASICS combines traditional elements with a trendy design for the SportStyle series, which is aimed at a new injection of fresh blood within its clothing and shoes yet pushes the boundaries of modernistic fashion. 'Eleven' dedicated SportStyle stores for India are set up while offering a range of different types of collections, as apart from its existing Performance Running and Core Performance Sports range. It's an investment initiative that shows commitment to the growth of ASICS SportStyle in the Indian market, allowing consumers to reach an expanding worldwide product offering that has grown so obviously at a 20-25% CAGR over recent years.
Speaking on this new milestone, Mr. Rajat Khurana, Managing Director, ASICS India and South ASIA said, “Our focus on India remains clear and constant, we are right on our projected growth trajectory with our 111th store launch today, aiming to touch 120 by end of this year, and 200th by end of 2026".
He further added, “To celebrate this milestone, we bring back the iconic SKYHAND™ OG Sneakers with our Brand Ambassador, Shraddha Kapoor. This marks just the start of our exciting journey to introduce many more innovative products to our already in demand SportStyle category in the evolving Indian market”.
Although the brand garners a significant contribution of its sales from digital channels, the offline stores are also contributing to around 60% in the overall business. By expanding the offline sales outlets, in both tier I & II cities, ASICS aims to capture the Indian market and paving its way to becoming the top choice for customers in running, athleisure, cricket, tennis & indoor court footwear category.
Shraddha Kapoor was thrilled to be the face of ASICS India in New Delhi. "Being part of the ASICS family has been an amazing experience. Their focus on innovation and quality is truly inspiring. I'm delighted to celebrate the opening of ASICS' new store and the return of the classic SKYHAND™ OG Sneakers after 30 years! I instantly loved them for their fluid style, versatility, and comfort".
ASICS has resonated well with my interest in fitness, wellness, and style, she said. And she expressed her eagerness to share this journey forward with fans and hopefully, through inspiration, to set a direction to prioritize health and well-being".
With an increase of over 25% year-on-year growth CAGR, ASICS India, with more than 1,061 points of sale across the nation, expects to maintain these results over the coming years.
