India International Travel Mart Wraps Up Successful Runs in Chennai and Bangalore

The India International Travel Mart (IITM) concluded its Chennai and Bangalore editions in July 2025 on a successful note, reaffirming its status as South India's leading B2B travel and tourism show. Now celebrating its 26th year, IITM has evolved into one of India's most reliable travel trade hubs, regularly convening national and international tourism players for business networking, knowledge sharing, and destination promotion.

The events this year witnessed active participation from more than 800 exhibitors hailing from 25 Indian states and 20 overseas destinations, including tourism boards, destination management companies, hospitality chains, airlines, and travel technology startups. 

Chennai edition, conducted from 16 to 18 July, was opened by Thiru T. Christuraj, Director of Tourism, Government of Tamil Nadu, in the presence of a number of esteemed guests from the tourism industry. The Bangalore edition, which was hosted between 24 and 26 July, was welcomed by Shri Pasang Dorjee Sona, Honourable Minister for Tourism, Government of Arunachal Pradesh.

The event attracted considerable interest from prominent dignitaries such as tourism leaders of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and Tourism Malaysia representatives among others. Both cities saw colorful showcases, interactive workshops, and high-level B2B meetings that enhanced alliances and revealed new platforms for tourism promotions.

Directors at Sphere Travelmedia & Exhibitions, Mr. Sanjay Hakhu and Mr. Rohit Hangal, welcomed the massive response, pointing out that these editions surpassed expectations in terms of buyer interest and industry association. They noted the increasing prominence of South India in India's tourism landscape and reaffirmed IITM's focus on the growth of the industry through connecting emerging markets with veteran stakeholders.

With a history of more than 100 successful editions, IITM keeps growing as a vibrant platform that promotes innovation, sustainability, and experiential travel. The show had special pavilions dedicated to luxury travel, digital innovations, and green tourism, drawing wide attention from both traditional players and new entrants.

Looking forward, IITM is going to host future editions in Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Kochi, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad, consolidating its position as a growth driver for India's vibrant travel and tourism industry.
