
Maruti Suzuki Fronx Races to 5 Lakh Production Milestone in Just 28 Months

- Maruti Suzuki’s compact SUV Fronx has crossed the 500,000 production mark in just 28 months since launch.
- The Fronx has shown strong domestic sales and export growth, becoming the most-exported passenger vehicle in FY25.
- It is the first Made-in-India Maruti SUV exported to Japan, with global shipments crossing 100,000 units.
Maruti Suzuki India has announced that its compact SUV, Fronx, has achieved a major milestone by crossing 5 lakh units in production in just over two years. Launched in early 2023, the Fronx has become one of the fastest growing models in the automaker’s SUV lineup.
Positioned alongside the Brezza, Jimny, and Grand Vitara, the Fronx has impressed with consistent monthly sales since launch. It sold 100,000 units in just 10 months, and reached 300,000 units in 24 months. In February 2025, the Fronx posted its best ever month with over 21,400 units sold.
The vehicle has also made a mark internationally, with one in every five units exported. Maruti Suzuki confirmed that the Fronx has already been shipped to markets in Japan, Latin America, the Middle East, and Africa. It became the first Indian made Maruti SUV exported to Japan and crossed 100,000 exports in just 25 months the fastest by any Indian passenger vehicle.
Built on the Baleno platform, the Fronx features multiple powertrain options, including petrol, turbo petrol, and CNG. It also comes with premium features such as a 360 degree camera, wireless charging, 9 inch infotainment system, and six airbags for enhanced safety.

Competing in the busy compact SUV segment, the Fronx goes head to head with popular models like the Hyundai Venue, Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, and Mahindra XUV 3X0, but has managed to carve out a strong and growing presence in both Indian and global markets.
