BuilditIndia, India's Premier Digital Building Material Platform, today announced the establishment of its subsidiary Matelio, a new-generation retail-tech company meant to revolutionize the way India purchases building materials.

Matelio is envisioned as the retail and private label division of BuilditIndia, dedicated to consolidating and digitalizing India's disorganized construction materials sector. Remaining true to its motto 'From Bricks to Clicks', Matelio will connect conventional offline retail with cutting-edge digital features, facilitating an effortless omni-channel interface for contractors, builders, retailers, and end-users.

In a significant fillip to its growth trajectory, Matelio has onboarded Mr. Sandeep Kakkar as Director. Mr. Kakkar has more than 35 years of cross-border leadership experience in retail, wellness, clothing, and industrial safety industries.

A veteran of the industry, he also boasts a rich and diverse experience with a stint at Redcats Asia, H&M, Monsoon Accessorize & the Essel Group. Presently, he serves as the CEO of Worldwide Safety, an Indo-French joint venture. His skills in business development, operational excellence, brand building, and international retail management will be instrumental in leading Matelio's vision of emerging as India's most trusted building materials retail-tech brand.

In Phase 1, Matelio will onboard 50+ franchise partners in Tier I and Tier II markets and create a capital-light yet high-impact retail network to drive market expansion.
