Sephora, a globally renowned prestige beauty retailer with a strong omnichannel presence, has announced a strategic partnership with Reliance Beauty and Personal Care Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited (RRVL). The partnership aims to revolutionize the future of prestige beauty retail in India by expanding Sephora's presence across various retail channels exclusively through RRVL. Since its initial entry into the Indian market in 2012, Sephora has leveraged its unique brand identity, exceptional product curation abilities, and a distinctive approach to beauty and experiential retail to cater to the diverse beauty needs of India's extensive consumer base.

Alia Gogi, Asia President of SEPHORA, expressed, "We are tremendously excited to partner with the largest retail group in India to step-change our business. Rising affluence, increasing urbanization, and the widespread influence of social media have fostered greater awareness of self-care and beauty, unlocking significant opportunities in the prestige beauty segment. This is an opportune moment for us to invest in expanding our presence and introduce new, captivating, and exclusive brands to delight our ever-growing community of beauty enthusiasts. We are equally grateful to Arvind for their partnership over the past eight years, positioning us for the next stage of growth".

V Subramaniam, Director of Reliance Retail Ventures Limited, added, "We are excited and proud to partner with Sephora, a global beauty industry leader. The burgeoning Indian beauty market is being driven by a new generation of customers seeking to express their individuality, with an increased focus on aesthetic refinement. Moreover, the growing number of women in India's young workforce is a significant factor. The Indian consumerism journey is at a tipping point, providing the ideal momentum for this partnership. Importantly, this collaboration will enable us to span the entire value chain in the beauty and personal care sector".

As part of the partnership, Reliance Beauty and Personal Care Limited will assume control of Sephora's 26 stores across 13 Indian cities from Arvind Fashions Limited. This will allow Sephora to expand its presence in India. Reliance Beauty and Personal Care Limited oversees the beauty business for RRVL, and this partnership will enhance its portfolio of offerings. This partnership is expected to benefit from India's growing $17 billion beauty and personal care market, projected to grow at an 11% CAGR. RRVL is India's largest retailer, with significant customer insights and access in offline and digital realms.
