In a bid to promote tourism from India to Georgia, Thomas Cook (India) Limited has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Georgia National Tourism Administration (GNTA). The partnership aims to increase awareness and demand for Georgia among Indian travelers, placing it at the top of the international destination charts.

Thomas Cook India's internal data reflects that Indian travelers are now more interested in the new destinations where the visa process is easier. The association will work on highlighting the attractions, accessibility, and affordability of Georgia. The initiative will be on the key areas: brand building of Georgia in India, creating content for the destination, MICE tourism promotion, and joint marketing to drive interest.

From the cobblestone streets of Tbilisi to the dramatic landscapes of the Caucasus Mountains, from ancient cave cities of Uplistsikhe to the country's globally renowned winemaking heritage, Georgia has it all. It offers a wealth of unforgettable experiences at great value for the discerning Indian traveler," said Rajeev Kale, President & Country Head – Holidays, MICE, Visa, Thomas Cook (India) Limited. We will engage the Georgia National Tourism Administration for cooperation to market Georgia as a preferred destination for the diverse segments of customers. We will concentrate our strategic initiatives through education and training, familiarization trips, and joint marketing initiatives targeted towards various groups of Indian travelers - millennial travelers, young professionals, families, couples, solo travelers, business-leisure tourists, and corporate MICE groups - targeting the metros, mini-metros, and Tier 2 and 3 cities in India.

Maia Omiadze, Head of the Georgian National Tourism Administration, welcomed the tie-up and spoke about the fact that Thomas Cook India is one of the leading players in the Indian travel market. She said, This partnership will make Georgia more visible in India, run targeted marketing campaigns, and increase tourist footfall from India.

India’s growing impact on global tourism is evident, with 124,335 Indian travelers visiting Georgia in 2024, marking an impressive 46.8% increase from the previous year. The partnership was further reinforced at the OTM 2025 event in Mumbai, where Georgia was represented by a strong delegation of 45 companies, fostering new business opportunities with Indian stakeholders.

This strategic tie-up will also help Georgia get a place for itself as the destination of Indian tourists, with Thomas Cook India further expanding its portfolio by making available unique, enriching, and memorable experiences for travelers.
