  • AWS Marketplace now supports software purchases in Indian rupees.
  • Expansion aims to simplify access to global software for Indian businesses.
  • Move strengthens AWS’s focus on local cloud adoption and digital innovation.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) has expanded its AWS Marketplace in India, allowing customers to purchase software directly in Indian rupees (INR). The move is expected to make it easier for Indian enterprises and startups to access, deploy, and manage a wide range of global software solutions while paying in their local currency.

The AWS Marketplace serves as a curated digital catalog that includes thousands of software listings across categories such as security, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and cloud management. With this localization, AWS aims to simplify procurement and billing, removing foreign exchange barriers that often complicated transactions for Indian customers.

Industry experts see this as a strategic step to deepen AWS’s presence in one of its fastest-growing markets. By supporting INR payments, the company is aligning with India’s expanding digital economy and the government’s focus on cloud-driven innovation across enterprises.

With more local payment flexibility and access to global software providers, AWS expects to see a surge in adoption among Indian businesses seeking secure, scalable, and compliant cloud solutions.
