Coromandel International Launches 1000th Gromor Retail Store

Coromandel International Limited, India's top agri-solutions provider, has reached a milestone with the opening of its 1000th Gromor retail outlet in Kashti Village, Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra. 'Apla Gromor' store symbolizes Coromandel's enhanced involvement with India's agriculture community and increasing presence in the region.
The milestone ceremony was attended by Mr. Arun Alagappan, Executive Chairman, Mr. S. Sankarasubramanian, Managing Director & CEO of Coromandel International Limited, and senior leadership of the company.

Coromandel entered Rural Retail hubs during the year 2007 under 'My Gromor' brand and has developed into one of the largest rural retail chains in the nation offering extensive range of agri inputs and services to the farming community in the Southern states.

With the sea of responses from farmers as far as extension activities, quality products and services are concerned, Coromandel has been building the network beyond Southern states and ventured into Maharashtra where it has achieved the 1000th Store milestone and has set plans to double the network in the next 2 years.

With these 1000 company-owned, company-operated stores in five states - 766 Mana Gromor in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, 195 Namma Gromor in Karnataka, 23 Namadu Gromor in Tamil Nadu, and 16 Apla Gromor in Maharashtra the network currently services more than 3 million farmers.

These centers are backed by a team of more than 5000 individuals who interact with the farmers on a daily basis for different extension activities to assist in improving their yield and farm output. The Gromor retail chain is augmented by digital solutions MyGromor app, providing farm-specific advisory, product pricing, and image-based detection of pests and diseases.

With over 1 million users, the app is already generating 15% of store revenues. Farmers are additionally benefited with transparent pricing through auto-generated bills and SMS notifications, doorstep delivery and IoT-driven farm advisory services. Every 'My Gromor' center is a single window point for farmers, providing a holistic array of
agri-inputs bulk, specialty, and organic fertilizers, crop protection, biologicals, cattle feed, and farm implements along with added-value services like soil and carbon testing, agronomy advisory, drone spraying services, and farmer-centric insurance.

On average, every center provides services to more than 1000-1500 farmers in 10-15 villages. The 1000th 'My Gromor' centre, rolled out under the brand name Apla Gromor in the Kashti-Shrigonda region, provides a complete range of agri-inputs and services and consolidates the company's footprint in Maharashtra. Its new format and farmer-focused products make the new outlet more determined to drive farm productivity improvement and rural prosperity.

Coromandel is also set to open 20 more Gromor stores in Pune district, including five around Kashti, further increasing its farmer connect. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Mr. Arun Alagappan, Executive Chairman, Coromandel International, said "The opening of our 1000th 'My Gromor' store is a proud milestone in Coromandel's history of serving and empowering India's farmers. In the years to come, we have outlined aggressive plans to double our retail presence in the years to come, further extending our farmer connect and generating sustainable value for rural communities. The Apla Gromor store will also be a demonstration center for digital farming solutions, with tools like the MyGromor app, remote advisory, and image-based pest and disease diagnosis.
