Reliance Retail has announced an exclusive partnership with Germany-based cosnova Beauty to introduce its leading cosmetics brand, essence, to the Indian market. The move strengthens Reliance Retail’s fast-expanding beauty portfolio and brings one of Europe’s most popular affordable makeup brands to Indian consumers.
Under this agreement, Reliance Retail will distribute essence across its full omnichannel ecosystem. Shoppers will soon be able to find essence products online, in Reliance’s standalone beauty stores, and in partner retail formats across the country. This nationwide presence is expected to make the brand easily accessible to a wide audience.
Founded in 2002, essence is known for its 'Make Beauty Fun' philosophy, offering high-quality, cruelty-free makeup at affordable prices. The company says over 80% of its products are produced in Europe. It also refreshes nearly half its assortment twice a year, introducing new limited-edition, trend-focused items that appeal to young and experimental beauty users.
