Arunachal Government Announces Unified Advertising Policy

- Policy merges earlier ad frameworks for better transparency and fund allocation
- All government ads will now go through DIPR under a single window system
- Fixed ad rates to support local media and ensure fair distribution
In a move to streamline government communication and boost local media, the Arunachal Pradesh government has launched a unified Print and Digital Media Advertisement Policy, 2025. The policy, approved by the Cabinet, aims to bring transparency, accountability, and efficiency in how state departments and PSUs advertise across platforms.
The new policy replaces two earlier frameworks, the 2018 Advertisement Policy and the 2020 Electronic Media Advertisement Policy, bringing both print and digital under one roof. From now on, all government advertisements will be routed through the Directorate of Information and Public Relations (DIPR), ensuring a single window system for approvals and fund disbursement.
The policy introduces fixed advertisement rates for empanelled local media outlets, which is expected to promote fairness and provide consistent support to smaller, state based publishers. This will help prevent bias in ad spending and enable broader outreach, especially in rural areas.

The Arunachal Press Club (APC) and Arunachal Pradesh Union of Working Journalists (APUWJ) welcomed the reform, calling it a milestone for the state’s media landscape. In a joint statement, they praised the government for strengthening local journalism and committing to equitable ad distribution, which plays a vital role in democratic engagement.
With this policy, Arunachal aims to make government messaging more inclusive, efficient, and accountable while giving a much needed boost to the state’s media ecosystem.
